UName IT Solutions is seeking a fulltime Senior Network Engineer: |
| |
|
 |
To design and implement new Windows Server/Client networks for small to midsized businesses; |
| |
|
|
To maintain and support small to midsized businesses Windows Server/Client networks; |
| |
|
|
To implement and maintain Microsoft Exchange Server and e-mail systems; |
| |
|
|
To implement and maintain Microsoft SQL Servers and database servers ; |
| |
|
|
To configure, implement and maintain routers, switches & firewalls (including Cisco & Sonicwall) ; |
| |
|
|
To configure, implement and maintain wireless devices for clients (including Cisco Aeronet); |
| |
|
|
To provide regular maintenance , including checking logs and back-ups. |
| |
|
|
To provide in-person, remote, phone and e-mail general IT support to clients ; |
| |
|
|
To be technically proficient and demonstrate outstanding customer service ; |
| |
|
|
To proactively solve problems and recommend preventative options to head off future problems; |
| |
|
|
To troubleshoot and find permanent solutions for client issues; and temporary work-arounds when necessary; |
| |
|
|
To work with the team |
| |
|
|
To record hours worked for each client immediately after work is performed in UIS website; |
| |
|
|
To effectively communicate with IT Manager and Clients as to status of work at the beginning of, during and at the end of visit; |
| |
|
|
To attend conference call Staff Meetings each week; and |
| |
|
|
To complete other projects or assignments as given by UIS. |
| |
|
|

|
Experience Requirements |
| |
|
|
Minimum of 5+ years of IT experience |
| |
|
|
Must have background in IT consulting for different businesses with different networks |
| |
|
|
Analyzing and determining specifications for small to midsized business networks |
| |
|
|
Designing networks and proposing network upgrades |
| |
|
|
Excellent troubleshooting skills |
| |
|
|
| |
|
Hardware Requirements |
| |
|
|
Advanced experience configuring, implementing and maintaining Cisco Routers and Switches |
| |
|
|
Advanced experience configuring, implementing and maintaining Servers (mostly Dell; HP, IBM, etc.) |
| |
|
|
Advanced experience configuring, implementing and maintaining Wireless Devices (Cisco Aeronet; Linksys) |
| |
|
|
Advanced experience configuring, implementing and maintaining Storage Systems (SCSI, RAID, SATA, and SAN) and Backup Systems (Removable Hard Drives, Robots & Tape Drives) |
| |
|
|
Advanced experience with Cabling (CAT5 & CAT6 Ethernet, and Telephone) |
| |
|
|
Advanced experience configuring, implementing and maintaining Firewalls and VPN Clients (Cisco PIXs, Sonicwall, etc.) |
| |
|
|
Knowledge of Linux Servers and/or Apple servers and desktops (preferred) |
| |
|
|
| |
|
Software Requirements |
| |
|
|
Advanced experience implementing and supporting Microsoft Windows 2000/2003 Server, including Active Directory, Group Policies, File Security, DNS, DHCP |
| |
|
|
Experience implementing and supporting Microsoft Exchange 2000 and 2003 |
| |
|
|
Experience implementing and supporting Backup Solutions (e.g. Veritas, ArcServe, Windows Backup and Retrospect) |
| |
|
|
Experience implementing and supporting MS Terminal Services and Citrix |
| |
|
|
Familiarity with Microsoft SQL 2000 and 2005 |
| |
|
|
Advanced experience supporting Windows 2000 & XP desktops |
| |
|
|
Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Access, Project, Visio) |
| |
|
|
| |
|
Other Skill Requirements |
| |

Experience with project management |
| |

Excellent communication skills and ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of clients and staff in difficult or conflictive situations |

Emergency On Call Required |

Travel Required - Must be able to travel around Bay Area, if not the state. Must have reliable transportation with valid registration and insurance. |
